Sometimes the cravings, emotional rollercoaster, and intense workouts associated with weight loss are the easy part.  The hard part can be interacting with everyone around you. You have shifted your paradigm for life, and this in turn affects your relationships. And sometimes people just don't get it.

For a spot-on, funny take on this experience visit:

Scale Victory

After having a 4.2 lb loss last week, this week I was just hoping to maintain that whopping scale drop.  Well, not only did I maintain, but I lost another .8 lbs this week! This means I am now at 171.8 lbs, giving me a BMI of 29 - my goal for Christmas more than a month early! That gave me the much needed emotional boost I had been craving this week. My new goal will be to lose at least another 5.2 lbs by Christmas, bring me to 50 l... Read Full Post »

Random Question

Posted at 10:29 AM on October 23, 2008 Comments comments (2)
Why do they put a Weight Watcher's meeting place next door to a pizza joint? And make the walls so thin you can hear the pizza staff call out when orders are ready? And make the Weight Watchers meeting room have a wall of windows, out which you watch clients of the pizza joint car... Read Full Post »

Dear Body

Dear Body,

Thank you so much for putting up with my wretched abuse over the past 10 years. I apologize for putting so much fried, fatty, processed, sugary substances into you. I am also sorry that I rarely took you outside to stretch and breathe. Thank you for bearing this burden silently and with little medical consequences. I will be forever grateful.

I think you are enjoying the healthier food and increased exercise - well...

Update: Are Weight Loss & Chocolate Cake Mortal Enemies?

Posted at 08:15 AM on October 10, 2008 Comments comments (1)
No!

But only if you have chocolate cake in moderation and workout. I had my birthday this past week, which included not one but two pieces of cake (one at home, one at work), 2 lunches out, and one dinner out. On Weight Watchers, you can still live life and lose because at weigh-in yesterday I was down 0...

Weight Loss & Chocolate Cake: Compatible or Mortal Enemies?

Posted at 11:49 AM on October 06, 2008 Comments comments (0)
I had a fantastic birthday on Saturday! My adorable husband even decorated the house complete with streamers, balloons, and a "happy birthday" sign. I savored both chocolate cake (one small slice) and smores (just one) in decent moderation, but couldn't control my wine drinking.  Ah well, birthdays only happen once a year and I really enjoyed spending time with my friends more than anything else (I talked more than I ate). Besides, I got ... Read Full Post »

WI was good last night (-2.8 lbs), and just shy of getting my Coach purse, but I did hit 35 lbs total!

But weight loss aside, today is Friday!!!!!!!!! And its gorgeous outside. And I think after all the deep, emotional, self-interested posts, I need a little funny in this blog. My husband showed me this ...

Muy Caliente

I am feeling very spicy today.  Not in the "just ate a jalapeno smothered in wasabi" sense. Nor in the "wearing a hot red dress a size smaller" sense.  No, I feel sassy in the "let me overwhelm you with my biting sarcasm" sense.

Ah, its going to be a fun day on the Weight Watcher boards.  ...

Dear Bicycle Seat

Dear Bicycle Seat,

Not only do you make my rump hurt, but in the middle of a 12 mile route, your nut decides to come loose, and thus I cannot sit on you without you pivoting wildly back and forth. Why do you hate me?

If Only It Were True

If only the following cartoon were true, I would have reached goal weight by now with how often I am on the Weight Watchers Message Boards (here's looking at you fabulous "20's" board gals).
