Beth is SO Totally Right

Posted at 09:15 AM on June 11, 2009

Blog reader, Beth, is completely and utterly correct in her comment on yesterday's post. And it really helped me shift my frame of reference. I need to be thankful for how lucky I am. As much as the things going "wrong" in my life have bothered me this week, I am blessed beyond comparison. The five things I am most thankful for are:

  1. My health, and my family and friend's good health.
  2. A loving, supportive, handsome husband.
  3. A beautiful, comfortable home.
  4. A stable job that affords me a fairly worry-free lifestyle (mortgage is paid, healthy food is affordable, vacations are taken).
  5. My support network is pretty freakin' fantastic - I don't ever feel alone when I am struggling.

I want reader participation on this post. What are you most thankful for today? Come on, everyone, I want lots of comments on this post. Let's share the positivity and make it as contagious as the swine flu. I want a Positivity Pandemic today!!!!!!!!!

First off....I am thankful to hear that my "imaginary mentor" is feeling better today!!! I read your post yesterday and kind of felt discouraged!...but in a good way. It was kind of like realizing that you are human too!...and that I can reach my goals (but will still have a bad day here and there). Soooo glad you are feeling better!

Today I am thankful that I have a job. Already this morning I have heard of 2 of my friends parents losing their jobs to the bad economy. I am thankful that I have a loving boyfriend who would and has literally done anything for me.

In regards to WW, I am thankful that I am healthy enough to actually do something about my lifestyle and get to a healthy weight!

Thanks for every kind and motivating words/advice that you give to the people on WW!!

I am so glad you are feeling better! YAY!!
I agree, when I'm in a funk I try to put it in perspective and remind myself of how lucky I am. Here are some of the things I am thankful for:

1) My healthy adorable daughter, Olivia.
2) My loving husband, who makes Olivia and I his #1 priority.
3) My family and friends- all of which are healthy and happy.
4) The roof over my head and the yummy healthy food on my table.
5) My ability to run and exercise and enjoy life.

These are just a few...I am truely blessed. This list is enough to snap me out of a bad mood!

Depending on the day, depends on how long my "list" is haha, but today... i am thankful for my job, as much as i complain about having to go to work, i also helped a very nice couple bring their first baby into this world. Im thankful that i have the best boyfriend ever to go pick up my son at daycare this morning so i didnt have to leave work, after he had just worked last night. Im thankful for the house i live in, with no shared walls or ceilings. Im thankful for the INTERNET =) =) =) And above all, im thankful for my health, and the health of my son, that we can get up in the morning and dress ourselves.... well "I" can =) thanks natalie for having us all share for a moment, just how blessed we really are =)
